Love starved, hug starved

At the age of 22 plus, how come it, you are still single
A thought of opposite sex doesn’t excite you to mingle
Or, you are yet to chance upon to meet your beloved
Pity on you dear friend, you love starved, hug starved

I resist to believe your failing to find that someone
At least, definitely, your emotive heart would have run
After one special face, but courage was all you lacked
To have spoken of your liking her, to remain love starved

Many charming visages, you would have come across
In college, whilst traveling, walking down the lane, to lose
Your heart to them, and a picture of your dreams you carved
But you couldn’t just approach her, to remain hug starved

The world had turned beautiful during that half an hour journey
She was sitting beside, moments seemed favorable but dreamy
A thrill of pleasure ran through all your senses, a motion waved
But you dared not hold an eye contact, to remain love starved

I ask you, had the air current not turned divinely breezier
In her presence, and your soul and spirit you felt even purer
Then what kept you from exchanging a note of hello, not halved
To its pristine appeal, so to lesser fate, you remained hug starved

Thirty minutes were soon over to the tunes of her metro stop
With your eyes set on her as she stepped out of the train, hope
Was your next pursuit, as luck u bypassed to get it utterly shaved
My friend, to your doom, you again did remain love starved

Numerous such occurrences you would have been through
If only, you would have let the chords strike, to get the clue
Of her fancies about you, but you were rat enough to be barbed
To escape the principle of being yourself, to remain hug starved

It was one such story of singles’, sorry, I mean yours, repetition
Of such failings leads him blindly and disturbs with apprehension
Singles, u don’t comply with societal norms, and its law u lard
Remaining a threat to society, u far more remain love starved
